Public schools are the heart of Steamboat Springs.
As a scientist, former teacher, local coach, and mom to two kids in our district, I’m working to build the public school system our families deserve.
I want schools that prepare our kids for academic success but also for engaged, healthy, and connected lives.
With your vote, I look forward to working together with thoughtful, evidence-based decisions and parental input to protect and prepare our kids for a changing world.

Mom. Teacher. Coach.
From teaching on high school and college campuses to working on the forefront of America’s health and energy sciences, education has been fundamental throughout my life.
I started my career in outdoor education pursuing a passion for adventure as a river guide, ski patrol, wilderness medicine instructor, and high school math and science teacher at Steamboat Mountain School. I attended graduate school at CU Anshutz Medical Campus and earned a doctorate in molecular biology, fueled by my curiosity and drive to make discoveries that have big impacts.
I’ve spent 25 years working in the sciences, studying human cells in petri dishes to develop better breast cancer drugs, engineering bacteria to make oils for tomorrow’s American-made energy solutions, and supporting government decision makers in evaluating multi-million dollar research projects.
Our family decided to move to back to Steamboat Springs to raise our children in an active, outdoor oriented community. Today, my two kids attend our school district. I coach youth at Steamboat Springs Winter Sports Club, volunteer with Steamboat Girls Lacrosse, coordinate a youth book club, and serve on the board of Booktrails Literacy Adventure Camp.
I believe our public schools are the heart of Steamboat Springs. They prepare our kids not only for academic success but also for engaged, healthy, and connected lives. I’d be honored to earn your vote for our school board to move our schools forward with thoughtful evidence-based decisions and parental input to protect and prepare our kids for a changing world.

My Vision for Steamboat Schools
-
Great schools start with great teachers, but too many can’t afford to live here. By ensuring competitive pay and supporting affordable housing, we can attract and keep excellent educators in our community, where they are impacting our children’s lives everyday.
-
We need clear policies to teach students when and how to use technology, including artificial intelligence, responsibly. By embracing AI innovations that enhance learning outcomes and defining acceptable AI use for students, we give students the skills, integrity, and preparation they need for college, careers, and life.
-
As a scientist, I am trained to analyze data, proactively seek out different perspectives, and see the big picture. I’ll bring that same approach to the school board, making thoughtful, evidence-based decisions through collaboration while keeping parents involved and the community informed about how and why choices are made.
